Iran animated flick picked in Italy

Iran animated flick ‘Run Rostam Run’ has been picked for screening at international filmfest in Italy.

Hossein Molayemi’s noted animation will be shown in the competition section of the 12th River Film Festival, to be held June 15– 30, 2018.

The fest taking place in Padova, Italy, will show this animation which was previously nominated at Wales Film Festival.

‘Run Rostam, Run’, an 11-minute animation, was first screened at the 10th Biennial Animation Festival in Tehran.

The short animation is a free, comic adaptation of the tragic Persian story of Rostam and Sohrab. Rostam, the national epic hero, must travel in time and come to modern Tehran in order to make up for what he has done to his son, Sohrab. While in Tehran, he cannot decide whether to accomplish his goal through a legal or illegal one.

The tragedy of Rostam and Sohrab forms part of the 10th-century Persian epic Shahnameh by great Persian poet Ferdowsi.
